The STOROJET system occupies a footprint of only 400 square meters yet provides space for around 7,300 load carriers. This efficient use of space allows the company to store a wide range of products, particularly sports textiles, in a compact and organized manner. The system’s compact design made it possible to expand storage capacity without costly structural modifications – a crucial advantage in a region where available space is often limited.

A special highlight of the system are the individually customizable load carriers based on wooden boards, with a footprint of up to 50 by 90 centimeters, which could be perfectly tailored to the company’s requirements. The company chose to equip the load carriers with a simple edge frame, allowing textiles to be stored directly in their outer cartons. This simple but effective solution eliminates the need for unpacking and repackaging, enabling goods to be shipped directly from storage. This not only saves time but also conserves resources by significantly reducing packaging material consumption.

The decision to implement the STOROJET system was not only about efficiency but also a strategic response to current challenges. Like many other companies in the logistics industry, the sporting goods mail order company faces a growing shortage of skilled workers. Finding qualified staff is becoming increasingly difficult, forcing companies to design work processes that are more efficient and less labor-intensive. This is where STOROJET’s automated processes come in. The system takes over time-consuming tasks such as organizing and providing goods, relieving employees for other activities.

Two other important aspects were the prevention of mispicks and the handling of returns. Incorrectly assembled shipments are a costly problem in mail order business, leading to additional work and, in the worst case, customer dissatisfaction. Through automated warehouse organization and precise order assembly, the company was able to significantly reduce the error rate. The clearly structured storage ensures that each product reaches the customer safely and directly. The same applies to return handling, which is a well-known challenge in the textile sector. Time-consuming re-sorting is no longer necessary, and items can easily be restocked.

In addition, switching to the STOROJET system paid off both ecologically and economically. The ability to reuse the original packaging of textiles reduces packaging material consumption, lowering costs and contributing to sustainability. At the same time, the acceleration of processes enables faster order processing and greater customer satisfaction.

With the STOROJET system, the sporting goods mail order company from the Ruhr area has found a future-proof solution that combines efficiency, sustainability, and process reliability. The project demonstrates how innovative technology can be combined with customer-specific adaptations to meet the individual requirements of a dynamic market. Thanks to this investment, the company is not only well prepared for current demands in e-commerce but also ready to face future developments with confidence. STOROJET has proven to be the key to modern and competitive warehouse logistics.
